I am not a web designer and I have no interest in the website building process” BUT I know I need a website that:
If you’ve been thinking about some of the points above, then please continue reading.
The truth is even if you’re not interested in the website-building process, you still need a website and as a solo practitioner if you want to keep it affordable then learning a little bit about the website-building process can serve you (and your pockets) well in the long run. With the right TOOLS and RESOURCES this process can be easy.
In the past having a professional website built meant you either had to have website design or programming skills or you had to hire a web designer. But hiring a web designer comes with it’s own set of problems:
The thing about building websites is you don’t know, what you don’t know and many web developers aren’t going to tell you what you don’t know which means there’s a greater chance of being taken advantage of!
That’s not true anymore! Now you can easily build, update and grow your website’s with minimal or no HTML or web programming skills. When it comes to time and money you want to be as resourceful as possible. With today’s technology if you can send an e-mail or use a word-processor then you can build a website. With a tool such as WordPress you can:
Often people spend thousands of dollars to have a website built but have no budget to spend on online marketing strategy that will bring traffic to their website. While having a website is an important part of establishing an online presence, you don’t need to spend your entire budget on having a website built.
No amount of pretty graphics and expensive design can guarantee that! The key to website-building success is your content, your offer, your call-to-actions, your marketing and your relationship building.
With the growth of the amount of people using the Internet you know you can reach a much wider audience by having a good website. In the past, you had to settle for face-to-face meetings, in-person networking or direct mail marketing, all which are helpful but also can be time-consuming and sometimes very costly. But just because you have a website it does not mean people will come to it.
In order to get your ideal clients to your website, you’ll need to have:
Your business solves a problem and people are searching for solutions to their problems. Your website can give them what they’re looking for if you plan for this in advance. Now don’t get nervous! You don’t need to have a MBA to build a client attracting website. You just need to have a blueprint on how to maximize your online marketing!

I know firsthand how intimidating and sometimes frustrating it can be to get a website built. I remember being excited about my decision to leave the corporate world and pursue my passion for helping others through my own business. I paid a huge website development fee and was locked into a two year contract paying $79/month. The monthly fee was unnecessary but I didn’t know that at the time. I just thought that was normal. But what I learned was, you don’t know what you don’t know and that puts you at a disadvantage!
I started doing some research and learned about Joomla and WordPress, two great award-winning content management systems that were free, had many extensions to enhance their capabilities, had a community of active developers improving the program and most importantly had an easy to use interface so you didn’t need to be a technical expert to build a website. Joomla was great for building business websites and WordPress was excellent for blogging or simple websites. And the only monthly cost was for website hosting, which was under $100 per year.
With a some time, effort and research I created my first website. I was very excited to be in control of my website and being able to make updates and adjustments when I needed them. I noticed I started focusing more on what really matters; attracting and converting my ideal clients. The money I was using before for website updates and enhancements was now being spent on marketing, which helped me to gain new clients. After awhile, other small business owners started asking me to setup their website and show them how to maintain and build their web presence.
So why should you take this training with me? I’ve spent thousands of dollars on workshops, books and software programs. I’ve done the research so you don’t have to! Plus I love to learn and truly enjoy sharing what I’ve learned with others. In my 16 years of working both in the corporate world and running my own business, I’ve taught over 3,500 people.
